Ms. Loehr, a native of Massachusetts, has been a teacher at CLASS Academy since February 2010. After completing a B.S. in Elementary Education and Communication Studies, she moved to Portland and joined the CLASS Academy faculty. Ms. Loehr truly enjoys teaching and having the opportunity to watch children excel. She likes watching her students find the joy of learning. When she’s not teaching, Ms. Loehr enjoys running and snowboarding.

Mr. Lucas, a native of Colorado, has been a teacher at CLASS Academy since September 2000! After his many years at CLASS Academy his favorite aspect of being a teacher is still the wonderful students and their great imaginations. While not teaching or running Maintenance Days, he enjoys fly-fishing, watching movies, and is a die-hard Denver Broncos fan.

Mrs. Mitchell has been a teacher at CLASS Academy since September 2012. A native Oregonian, she graduated from Central Washington University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She enjoys teaching because of the energy and curiosity that children posses. Her hobbies include hiking and crafting.

Mr. Julian Tangeman

Mr. Tangeman, a native of Altoona, PA, has been a teacher at CLASS Academy since April 2010. He graduated with a B.S. in Education. The part of teaching that Mr. Tangeman enjoys the most is seeing the excitement on a child’s face when he/she succeeds. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, watching hockey, and playing his guitar.

Mr. Eric Schmidgall

Mr. Schmidgall, a native of Kansas, joined the CLASS Academy faculty in July 2016. After graduating from the University of Alaska with a degree in History and Russian Studies, Mr. Schmidgall taught English in China and New Orleans, Louisiana. His favorite part of teaching is seeing students make connections between what they learn in the classroom and their lives outside of it. When not teaching, Mr. Schmidgall enjoys running, hiking, and cooking.
